How to Use Water Ring and Save Water

New Planting

Existing Trees

Water Ring is a slow drip water storage device for planting trees and shrubs. Fill and let it drip in the root zone. Planting new trees should place the ring fully in the backfill to release water 4 inches down in the root zone.

Existing Trees

For existing trees, place bottom of ring at least one inch below the soil surface to slow and contain water release. Do not cut roots of existing trees. Fill at least two times per week and add extra surface water in tree area. Ring can be buried in mulch with spout exposed. All plantings should be covered in at least 3 inches of mulch to reduce evaporation.
